Our Business Seminar!!

Why the Business Seminar? The business seminar is organized in line with our company’s vision of building capacity of individuals and businesses at all levels. Our main aim in establishing and running the business seminar is to equip Nigerian Youths with the necessary entrepreneurial and management skills that will empower them to be successful entrepreneurs and employers of labour who will no longer be part of Nigeria’s problems- looking up to government for employment;rather, part of the solution to Nigeria’s problems-creating jobs for unemployed Nigerians.  More reasons as you continue reading:

Nnewi is the Japan of Africa. It is home to many big businesses and big business men especially in the automotive and manufacturing industry.
Yet, apart from business seminars organized by Church groups and fellowships, it is amazing to know that no professional and core business seminar takes place in Nnewi periodically. This goes to explain that the majority of successful business men in Nnewi, achieved their success by a combination of sheer Grace of God, trial and error, use of their natural instincts, shrewdness and wisdom.
This implies that many of the successful business men in Nnewi stumbled into wealth or struggled their way into being wealthy even in their ignorance.
The popular financial success coach Robert Kiyosaki says: “Money is Knowledge.”  In the modern world we live in today, you are only as rich as how much knowledge you have. Everything now is information and it is more so because wealth creation has now gone digital. Whether it is letting people know where you are and what you do, whether it is paying bills or buying the things you need, and whether it is selling to your customers or communicating with them, you need to have knowledge of the current technology that will make things easiest for you. Today, we live in the computer and internet age and any university or college graduate who is not computer and internet literate is functionally an illiterate.
What is more, with the current crisis in the financial world especially the stock market, the way people are investing their money has changed. Nowadays, you have to invest smartly or you will lose your money and bear the pain. Investing involves risk and risk is real, no matter the nature of your business. That is why Robert kiyosaki said: “Risk is real. Education equals control, control mitigates risk.” That is apt!  To be in good control of the risks you take in your business or investment, you need knowledge.
In general, you need knowledge to prosper in the business world of today. Knowledge equals advantage. With knowledge, you don’t stumble into wealth, you consciously walk into it.
It is for these reasons and more that Suxxess Brands Nigeria has decided to organize a periodic business seminar in Nnewi, to serve as a platform for equipping entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs in and around Nnewi with the necessary knowledge that will enable them create the wealth of their dream. The seminar will also be a platform for equipping people with knowledge and skills for operating the latest technology for interacting with people and doing business. The seminar will also serve as an interactive forum for the exchange of business ideas and financial knowledge among the participants.

The maiden (first) session of this business seminar took place on Saturday, August 18th, 2012 at His Grace Foundation Academy (Beside Ochendo Hotel , Okpuno Egbu, Umudim, Nnewi) and was attended by six participants. The seminar has continued since then and is growing gradually.

The seminar is designed to be attended by all categories of people including: Big and Small Business men, Artisans, Professionals, Workers, Public/Civil Servants, Undergraduates, Fresh graduates, Interns & Corpers, Applicants, and Students.

   Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset (E-Mindset)
.It means to have a creative and innovative way of thinking irrespective of the kind of work or job you do. Therefore, even if you are doing a paid job, you can still be an entrepreneur.
Who is an entrepreneur?

Another authority: An entrepreneur is a person who organizes, manages and assumes the risks of a business
Robert Kiyosaki’s definition: “An entrepreneur is someone that sees an opportunity, puts together a team and builds a business that profits from the opportunity.”
***An entrepreneur: sees an opportunity. Makes a plan. Starts the business. Manages the business. Receives profits.

Entrepreneurs come in all ages, genders, shapes and sizes: E.g, the kid selling pure water, banana, etc on the street, the woman who sells fish, chicken (meat), provisions, in the market, or the woman who sells fries or roasted yam and plantain (‘kpachaa’) on the street, also the man collecting old aluminium sheets, plastics, metals for recycling, the little boy that sells or delivers newspapers; also-innovators and inventors like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs(the apple group), other Big business people-Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Paschal Edozie, Coscharis, Sam Adedoyin, Innoson,  Chikason, Ibeto -are all entrepreneus.

Qualities of entrepreneurs:
1. They are passionately insane (to the extent of dropping out of school e.g. Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Dell, Praise George, Innocent Idibia (2face), etc).
2. They have the inner drive to succeed.
3. Search for new ideas and innovation.

10. They are self-starters who think creatively-Highly motivated and energetic.
11. They are leaders and visionaries. Leaders birth change.
12. In a doubting world, they believe. And they believe in themselves.
13. In a slow world, they run.
14. In a weeping world they laugh (they endure),
15. They persevere, they don’t quit.
16. They create things (assets) out of nothing.
17. They see differently-see problems as opportunities (Like that’s good! E.g. d shoe story)

Importance of Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship contributes immensely to the economic prosperity of any country:
1. It creates jobs: Over 70% of the jobs in developed countries are created by entrepreneurs.
2. Through their entrepreneurial activities, entrepreneurs contribute over 70% of their countries’ annual revenue in developed countries like US, Europe-(Norway,Spain, Germany, France, Uk, etc), asia-(Japan, Taiwan, South Korea).Emerging economy-(China, india, Brazil)
3. It is the backbone of successful economies like US & EU. And emerging economies in Asia(China, India).
For Nigeria, it forms the bedrock of her industrial take-off because:
a. It creates more jobs per unit of capital invested. b. It supports larger industries by producing raw material input for them. c. It encourages indigenous entrepreneurship which helps to develop man-power techniques. It will also help develop our non-oil sector (esp. agro-allied industries) which will minimize rural-urban migration. d. It helps to lower inflation by the production of more goods and services due to the competition it creates.
4. It increases competition and therefore productivity as well
5. Entrepreneurs are creative and innovative. This is important for a country’s development.
6. It helps to better the lot of developing communities as it creates various means for their sustenance.
